CES - Freeze & Thaw Equipment

In addition to our blast freezer line, CES Pharma System's equipment line also comprises freeze & thaw equipment. While cryogenic freezing enables product stabilisation, controlled thawing is required before further processing (final purification, dilution, filling) can take place. Therefore this combination has become an essential manufacturing step in many production processes, since manufacturing processes can become decoupled and the overall product life extended. It's like you can let time stand still.

Quality freezing & precise thawing
CES's freeze & thaw systems are equipped with a flexible temperature control system including a high performance injection and ventilation as you can find in our blast freezer line, enabling you to stabilise your product and prepare it for cryopreservation.
After the preservation period when products need to be further processed, our equipment is capable of reversing the freezing process by using the same high performance ventilation as used during the freezing cycle combined with precisely and flexibly controlled heating elements. This powerful combination allows your products to be thawed at an elevated rate to prevent re-crystallisation and ensure the product quality.

Controlled agitation, improved efficiency
An oscillating table will allow product to be agitated during the thawing cycle by means of 4 independent actuators. These actuators enable you to flexibly create the required motion pattern which is adjustable during the cycle.
Product agitation will improve the melting rate due to forced convection and impact effects on the frozen product by the surrounding liquid phase, resulting in an improved efficiency of the thawing cycle.
